Coaching at school - march 31st 2017

In Volos students have practised and faced the activity planned in our project as " Job interview with professionals". As teacher , during the session, I found the activity really interesting and meaningful for the future of the project. Infact, when back to school, I planned a workshop addressed to the final classes in my school; basically for two reasons: the first one to activate myself as a " coach" during the session , and secondly because I realized that the students partecipating to the meeting in Volos where eager to share feelings and emotions they have experienced there. We prepared a power point with the essential steps of the job interview, and we proposed them to the students.
The impact on them was really amazing, because they have never even thought of how to behave in a job interview....
Many questions arose among them, and I felt really happy to be there " coaching them" during this important learning process.
My new experience as a " trying to be a coach " has also given an important input to my collegues, who are now more aware of " new gimmicks" to be used at school. So far, we always try to do our best as teachers, but now we have a better knolwledge on how to behave in some particular situations that can arise in a class or in a small group. It is really a new challenge; being able to help them, to support them, to advice them , we believe,we can do it......at least....we will try!!!
Avoiding drop out in our vocational school is a real challenge!
